Red Meat is a wacked-out comic strip for adults.

Soren Ragsdale runs the Red Meat Construction Set, which lets ordinary people make their own (even more minimalist) Red Meat strips.

At one point, having put some italics into the text for my panels, it dawned on me I could put any old HTML in. So, I did a silly thing involving using inline images with other images from the construction set--pushing the boundaries of this medium.

This was then followed by two hacks, one to test the possibility of hackery, and one very wicked hack (which didn't actually 'take advantage' of anything, and which I told soren I was doing).

Eventually, though, soren decided the risk of people taking advantage of things was bad, and put some filters on the act of saving the comic, so as to prevent people from making hacks. This would have been all well and good, and not have broken my existing comics, but then he decided to apply the filters to the act of viewing the comics as well, because the previewing code wanted to go through the filters, and it was the same code for final viewing.

The upshot: it wasn't worth the effort for soren to not break the old, existing hacked comics (which he didn't actually have any problems with me having done, as I didn't actually exploit the flaws except in humorous ways). So, since it wasn't worth that effort, instead the existing comics stopped working. The resulting comics were, umm, not very interesting.

So, with soren's help, I've reconstructed them in the form in which they appeared before he disabled the hackery. These are basically exactly as the comics appeared on his server. This means there are no links on these pages back to here, just to his server. Basically, ignore the links on the page, and use the back button on your browser.

Here are the comics, and the voting score they had at the time they were working:
